Coming off the high of our 2024 Fierce Fitzy Leadership Retreat, I’m brimming with gratitude, inspiration, and a renewed sense of purpose. This annual gathering, held at my Sarasota home, “Fitzy South,” was a beautiful blend of reconnection, fun, and reflection. Though Traveling Vineyard’s business model shift meant this year’s retreat didn’t focus on team building, the core essence—friendship and empowerment—remained as strong as ever. Here’s a glimpse into the laughter-filled days, inspiring conversations, and unforgettable memories we created.

The Legacy of Leadership

Though our Traveling Vineyard teams no longer exist, the connections we built are unbreakable. This retreat was a testament to the power of friendships forged in shared purpose. Our group chat continues to buzz with ideas, advice, and encouragement, and these annual gatherings remind us of the incredible strength we draw from one another.

"These women are a brain trust of brilliance, spanning diverse industries and experiences. Together, we lift each other up and keep the spirit of leadership alive."

Memories Worth Toasting

From poolside chats over margaritas to a floating tiki bar sunset cruise on Sarasota Bay, every moment was infused with joy and connection. Highlights included:

  • The Goodwill Outfit Adventure: We reminisced about last year’s hilarious team-building activity where we styled outrageous outfits from Goodwill and dined out in them.
  • Beach Day at Siesta Key: Relaxing on powdery white sand with cocktails, snacks, and sunscreen, we soaked up the sun and each other’s company.
  • Exploring Sarasota’s History: During our tiki bar cruise, we passed the Ca' d'Zan, John and Mabel Ringling’s stunning 36,000-square-foot Mediterranean Revival mansion. The history and beauty of Sarasota’s landmarks added an enriching layer to our retreat.

A Question for Reflection: What Does Your Ideal Day Look Like?

One evening, I asked everyone to describe their ideal day. The answers were diverse but shared a common theme: freedom, joy, and connection. It sparked a deeper conversation about designing lives and careers we don’t need vacations from—work that fulfills and energizes us.

"What if your career lifted you and others up? What if your income came from something you truly love? What does that look like for you?"

For some, the answer is entrepreneurship. For others, it’s building flexibility within a traditional job. Whatever your path, the key is aligning your work with your values and dreams.

Looking Ahead: New Adventures and Opportunities

As we toasted to our weekend, I couldn’t help but get excited about the adventures ahead:

  • Wine Camp 2024 in Texas Hill Country: This September, join me and Robin Hackney for a weekend filled with winery tours, distillery visits, craft cocktail demos, and a hoedown in an Old West town. There’s even a pistol-twirling demo by world champion Pistol Packin’ Paula!
  • Reimagined Retreats: I’m thrilled to continue hosting events that inspire, connect, and recharge women ready to embrace their potential.

A Toast to Friendship and Growth

This retreat wasn’t just a weekend getaway—it was a celebration of resilience, adaptability, and the strength we find in community. As we move forward, I’m committed to helping more women live their best lives by offering tools, retreats, and spaces to dream bigger.
