In this heartwarming episode, I had the pleasure of chatting with Robin Berseth, a woman whose life is as inspiring as it is multifaceted. From running her own preschool to coordinating impactful events for nonprofits, Robin’s journey is a testament to the power of resilience, adaptability, and community. She shared how embracing new challenges, nurturing friendships, and savoring life’s moments have shaped her path.

A Life of Many Chapters

Robin’s career began as a mother, balancing family life with her entrepreneurial spirit. She ran an in-home preschool specializing in toxin-free environments, serving first responders and military families. This chapter of her life gave her the flexibility to raise her kids while making a meaningful impact in her community.

Later, Robin transitioned into event planning for a nonprofit-focused accounting software company. She planned conferences and training sessions for grant-funded organizations, ensuring every detail—budgets, venues, guest speakers, and even giving back to local communities—was perfectly executed. Her work in this field was driven by a deep sense of purpose and a desire to support people working from the heart.

"It was fulfilling because everyone involved believed in their missions. It felt good to contribute to that energy."

Turning Pain into Purpose

One of Robin’s most memorable experiences was organizing an event where her team sponsored a Make-A-Wish child in honor of a beloved speaker who had passed away. This act of generosity transformed sadness into something deeply meaningful, embodying Robin’s belief that even in challenging times, good can emerge.

"There’s always something good that comes out of something bad. You just have to look for it."

Rediscovering Herself Post-Retirement

Robin’s decision to retire early marked another turning point. While the transition was initially daunting, she embraced the opportunity to reconnect with her family and explore new hobbies. One of her boldest moves was joining a women’s camping group, Sisters on the Fly. Through this group, Robin learned how to tow and set up her own trailer, stepping out of her comfort zone and rediscovering her adventurous spirit.

"Camping alone taught me to rely on myself. It was empowering to try something new and succeed."

Writing, Blogging, and Staying Creative

These days, Robin is exploring her creativity through blogging. Her blog covers topics like healthy living, adventures with her vintage trailer (Johnny and June), and recipes from her kitchen. Writing has become an outlet for her to share her experiences and inspire others.

"I may not have found my one true passion, but I’m enjoying the process of exploring and creating."

The Power of Friendships

Robin spoke fondly of the lifelong friendships she’s nurtured. Whether through annual staycations with her childhood friends or accountability calls with her Traveling Vineyard teammates, she emphasizes the importance of building and maintaining connections.

"Friends are the people who see you at your best and worst. They’re the ones who laugh and cry with you, and they’re priceless."

Looking Ahead

Robin’s upcoming adventures include a camping event in California and a reunion with her accountability partners in Montana. She’s also excited about her continued journey of self-discovery and creativity, focusing on slowing down and savoring life.

"Life is short, so be present, enjoy the moment, and cherish the people you care about."

Closing Thoughts:
Robin’s story is a reminder to embrace life’s transitions, find joy in new experiences, and nurture meaningful relationships. Whether planning an event, camping under the stars, or simply sharing a glass of wine with friends, she brings authenticity and heart to everything she does.
